Why This Reference Exists
Printed directories faded, but the records behind them remain. Clark County's Assessor and Auditor maintain separate property and recording systems. Voter information is governed by Washington law. Historical volumes and related sources sit with local libraries, the Clark County Historical Museum, the genealogical society, and Washington Digital Archives. We organize search tools, office contacts, coverage notes, and access rules so Clark County research begins with the proper custodian.
What Is Included
- Pages by angle: the street directory (address-keyed records), the city directory (the historical shelf), and the resident lookup (one-person searches)
- Clark County custodians: Assessor, Auditor, Elections, Clerk, Vital Records, and local-history repositories
- Walkthroughs: how to trace who lives on a street, how to read a directory entry, how to follow a household across the decades
- Access rules: what Washington law opens, what remains protected, and how to request material that is not online
Limits of Our Role
This is a privately run reference site, not a Clark County department, Washington agency, court, library, or records office. Those boundaries mean:
- We cannot confirm whether a named person currently lives in Clark County
- We cannot pull, certify, or change any record on your behalf
- We cannot add anyone to, or remove anyone from, any roll or database
- We cannot give legal advice about a record or a dispute
- We cannot promise that every coverage year, link, or office detail here is current at this moment
Only the custodian office can confirm, certify, or correct a record. Nothing found through this site may be used for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
